Black Tie & Blues Jeans fundraiser sets a record
Black Tie & Blue Jeans raises money for the Columbia Learning Center’s Chance to Become Scholarship Program. On Aug. 3, the 350 gathered for the sold-out evening raised a record $170,000 that will help students who might not be eligible for typical scholarship programs.

Global congratulates Clatskanie’s state champs
Global Partners is thrilled to congratulate the Clatskanie High School girls’ basketball team on its recent Class 3A state championship. Our colleague John Blodgett, a 1990 Clatskanie graduate, led the Tigers to their first, and only the school’s second all-time state championship. The first was a boys’ basketball win in 1945.
Global is proud to join other local businesses in donating $1 to the program for every point the team scored at home during the regular season and throughout playoffs.
Global Partners and its employees are committed to our neighbors and the communities where we live and work. That includes helping where help is needed most. Of personal interest to Global are charities working to cure cystic fibrosis and multiple sclerosis (MS). Sonya Slifka, founder and Abraham’s wife, was diagnosed with MS. This became the genesis for Global’s Cystic Fibrosis & Multiple Sclerosis Fund (CFMS Fund).
